Hi, I was born in Washington, D.C., raised in the suburbs, 4 year U.S. Navy enlistment serving aboard ships, 30 years working in libraries in Washington, D.C., now retired. I cannot seem to retain language learning, although I am quite proficient in American English. I can help with some of the more complex grammatical and phraseology problems in English which may occur to you.
I'm trying to learn Mandarin, trying to read both traditional and simplified characters. I can comprehend sounds that are transliterated into Wade-Giles, pīnyīn, and zhùyīn fúhào. Please feel free to contact me anytime; I don't get online every day, but, I WILL answer you if I understand what you say.
I also am very good at proofreading even for native speakers of English.
